Peer Violence: Draft Changes Foreseeing Fines for Parents Enter Procedure

Draft legal changes, which have entered Parliamentary procedure, foresee a 250-euro fine for parents whose children commit peer violence. The fine will also apply to parents who refuse to cooperate with authorities regarding problems created by their children.

Education Minister Janevska said on Friday a decision had been made for the draft changes to be passed. Interior Minister Toshkovski is adamant his institution has checked the situation on the ground for some time. Officers have conducted preventive supervision near schools.
