President Siljanovska Davkova Delivers Address at Faculty of Law in Ljubljana

The country’s European path must not involve conditions related to identity issues and bilateral demands, President Siljanovska Davkova assessed at a lecture at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana. As she said, though the country is not against constitutional changes, they should stem from European criteria, not from political pressures.

The President pointed out that some of the previous changes to the Constitution, including those arising from the Ohrid Framework Agreement and the Prespa Agreement, had been passed under strong international influence. She proposed a possible compromise, according to which the constitutional changes would be passed, but they would enter into force once accession negotiations with the EU have been completed.
