The Transport Ministry informed Friday afternoon that the tender for procurement of electric buses from a company in Hungary has been annulled after another company that competed on the tender lodged a complaint. The procurement was to secure 150 electronic buses, major part of which for the City of Skopje.
From SDSM they levelled accusations at the Transport Ministry and the Government, claiming the tender failed because officials attempted to rig it and accept an offer allegedly EUR 12 million higher than the lowest one.
The Transport Ministry reacted by publishing the entire documentation of the tender, claiming that entire procedure was conducted in accordance with all relevant laws on public procurements. They also demand an apology from SDSM for the false claims, and threatened with defamation lawsuit if it is not issued.
