Regarding the EU-Western Balkans Summit, SDSM leader Filipche said on Saturday that the “open door” had to be utilized without delay because it concerned the future of the country and the living standard of citizens. He believes that the European integration process is entering a crucial phase that the country must not miss.
“All EU members are saying that the Western Balkans belongs in Europe, offering mechanisms that facilitate our European integration for the first time”, Filipche said at the International Conference where he promoted the Skopje Initiative.
Stagnation mustn’t be allowed, while the rule of law is key, representatives of SDSM’s sister parties and organizations participating in the conference assessed.
Party of European Socialists (PES) Secretary General Giacomo Filibeck said the future of the EU was linked to the integration of the Western Balkans and full membership of North Macedonia in the European family.
