In an interview with Serbian medium Nedeljnik, SDSM leader Filipche says his party has clear information that former PM Gruevski has Hungarian citizenship, granted in 2022 by then-PM Orban, as well as Serbian citizenship, granted by Serbian President Vucic.
According to him, “Orban’s people” control a significant portion of North Macedonia’s media space, while Vucic and PM Mickoski coordinate anti-European propaganda.
“Mickoski is Orban’s closest ally in the Balkans, while Vucic serves as his protector. The fall of Viktor Orban’s 16-year rule in Hungary and the election victory of Peter Magyar have seriously shaken this right-wing axis in the region. Vucic and Mickoski are thus left without their key political shield”, the SDSM leader stresses.
Mickoski’s cabinet, Filipche points out, is implementing systematic partisan control over the state and strengthening its grip on institutions, media, and the judiciary. From a political standpoint, the SDSM leader believes, Mickoski and his circle are consciously keeping North Macedonia isolated to avoid European standards and accountability.
