SDSM Fiercely Criticizes VMRO-DPMNE over Judicial Council Law Issue

At a press conference on Tuesday, SDSM Secretary General Aleksandar Dimitrijevikj said the EU had asked for changes to the Judicial Council to be made in the shortened procedure, which meant that another “lie” by PM Mickoski regarding reforms had been completely exposed.

“SDSM has been warning about this from the very beginning. President Filipche publicly pointed out that the Law had been adopted without fully respecting the recommendations of the Peer Review Mission and the Venice Commission”, Dimitrijevikj stressed.

The same things were noted in the remarks SDSM submitted, but Justice Minister Filkov and Mickoski deliberately ignored them, according to Dimitrijevikj.

Previously, Sloboden Pechat had said it had learned the Law hadn’t passed the EU filter. According to the newspaper, the European Commission (EC) concluded that not all recommendations given by the Mission have been incorporated.
