With 59 votes in favor and nine votes against, Parliament has passed the Games of Chance Bill.
“Casinos will not be allowed to be located at a distance of less than 500 meters from schools, advertising on betting shop storefronts is prohibited, as is advertising that portrays gambling as a means to personal success”, Deputy Speaker of Parliament and VMRO-DPMNE MP Antonijo Miloshoski said on Thursday.
The text, he added, foresees a series of other restrictions and additional control mechanisms for organizers of games of chance. Thursday also saw Parliament elect Katerina Zajkovska as a member of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC). She is succeeding Cveta Ristovska.
