Prosecutor General Saveski Comments on Multiple Topics

“It is nearing completion”, Prosecutor General Saveski said on Thursday regarding the pre-trial investigation into the so-called Spy Affair regarding President Siljanovska Davkova’s Cabinet. All video footage from surveillance cameras is being analyzed by the Prosecutor’s Office.

When it comes to the Mazut case, Saveski pointed out that it had been submitted to the Skopje Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office Regarding statements by politicians, including those of PM Mickoski, Saveski said he listened to but didn’t wish to comment on them. According to the Prosecutor General, it is natural for the public to expect results from the Office, but his impression is that prosecutors are doing the maximum in all cases.

When it comes to Mickoski’s stand that he does not understand what is strange about speaking on the phone with the Prosecutor General since the Government nominated him, as well as his comments that he would continue to do so because it was his job, Saveski stated he didn’t know to what extent calling a prosecutor fell under the PM’s competence.

“However, just like anyone else who has the right to call me, the PM, i.e., the President of the Government, called me, and I see nothing contested there”, he said.
