On Monday — the final day of the amendment debate on the Equitable Representation Bill — MPs representing ethnic Albanian opposition parties again requested corrections to the text through amendments. However, DPM and European Affairs Minister Sali again rejected all of them.
At one point, a recess was called during the debate at the request of Sali, who, as he said, had to go to the Government for a meeting with the delegation from Lithuania visiting the country. Ilire Dauti of ZIadin Sela’s Albanian League fiercely criticized the decision, saying the debate was more important than any meeting the DPM could have.
