This summer, North Macedonia and Serbia are once again launching the joint campaign “Drive Rested”. At the Tabanovce border crossing, Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski and Serbian Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic promoted the initiative, alongside road safety institutions from both countries.
The campaign aims to educate drivers on planning trips, taking regular breaks, respecting traffic rules, and avoiding fatigue and speeding. Authorities advised travelers to pause every two hours, drink water, and ensure safe arrivals. Minister Toshkovski stressed that the campaign is a shared effort to raise awareness about road safety.
Minister Dacic emphasized that 20,000–30,000 people cross daily, with delays now reduced and fatal accidents in Serbia halved. He said the campaign will raise awareness about safe travel on long routes.
