Ahead of her visit to North Macedonia on Wednesday (July 8), Enlargement Commissioner Kos said that the EU had a historic opportunity to complete the enlargement process, which remained high on Brussels’ agenda, but emphasized that North Macedonia’s progress depended entirely on fulfilling its assumed obligations.
In an interview with MIA, she praised the country for the implementation of its Reform Agenda, but noted that the same determination was needed for actual accession negotiations. She also indicated that there was no case of giving guarantees to a candidate country that another dispute would not arise while negotiations were ongoing.
