NATO Summit: North Macedonia Delegation Continues Activities in Ankara

North Macedonia’s delegation continued its activities at the NATO Summit in Ankara. On Wednesday, ahead of the North Atlantic Council meeting, President Siljanoska Davkova stated more Kantianism and less Machiavellianism was needed in politics. The previous day, she had attended a reception hosted by Turkish counterpart Erdogan.

She said she had exchanged views with counterparts and PMs regarding the future shaping of the Euro-Atlantic security architecture, strengthening collective defense, and reinforcing transatlantic unity.

The President held a short meeting with Bulgarian PM Radev, who, as she noted, told her that they were not just neighbors, but also that she was his friend. That, she underlined, is inspiring and encouraging. DefMIn Misajlovski stated that his country already allocated around 4% of its GDP on defense, thus actively contributing to the common objective of NATO to reach the 5% level by 2035.
