On Monday, Minister of Justice Jeton Shasivari met U.S. CDA Varnes. The strong and continuous cooperation between the Ministry and the U.S., as a strategic partner in implementing judicial reforms, was reaffirmed. The meeting focused on key priorities of the Ministry, with an emphasis on judicial reforms, the rule of law, the digitalization of the justice system, the legislative agenda, and the fight against corruption.
Minister Shasivari requested the exchange of experience and expert assistance from the U.S. in the area of criminal legislation be enabled in the coming period. The reform of criminal legislation, which remains one of the Ministry’s strategic priorities, was also a focal point during the meeting.
In this regard, it was highlighted that the implementation of the project “Support for the Implementation of the National Strategy on Drugs in the Republic of North Macedonia” had commenced.
