Severe Storm Hits Skopje

On Tuesday, there was a severe storm in Skopje. The heavy rain and strong wind caused broken tree branches in parts of the capital.

Near the Mavrovka trade center, the storm triggered a fire that eventually extinguished itself. In Aerodrom, strong winds uprooted trees, which fell onto parked cars. In several other settlements, citizens reported power outages.

In Kisela Voda, the strong wind uprooted a tree, while sheet metal structures, fences, trash cans, and other smaller objects were blown through the air. The facility of the Opera and Ballet building was damaged as well. The 60-meter flagpole near East Gate collapsed.

City of Skopje services were taking actions at tens of locations.
