Gostivar Case: Number of Newly Examined Patients Continues to Decrease

Regarding the Gostivar water contamination case, Health Minister Klekovski said on Wednesday that the number of newly examined patients with symptoms of gastroenteritis in the city had continued to decrease. According to data from health institutions, the number of examinations at the General Hospital and the Health Center is significantly lower compared to previous days.

The Crisis Staff held another session. Additional measures were discussed to further reduce the number of citizens with health issues and assist the residents of Gostivar. The quantities of water that need to be delivered to the city were also addressed.

The Staff remains in continuous coordination with experts from Skopje who are on the ground working on remediation, with the primary objective of restoring the water first as technically usable and shortly thereafter as safe for drinking. However, according to the results of the latest analyses, the water from the water supply still cannot be used.
