The last major intervention on Gostivar’s water supply network took place on May 7 of this year, according to the internet portal of the Komunalec (public utility) Public Enterprise (PE). Then, residents were warned of a 12-hour outage (from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) due to the relocation of the main water supply pipe due to works on Corridor 8 by Bechtel ENKA. For Telma, some people have expressed suspicions that issues increased then.
There is active work on expanding the Tetovo-Gostivar and Gostivar-Bukojchani sections precisely around Gostivar. While neither the Municipality nor the PE have answered Telma’s questions, Bechtel ENKA has said it will present an answer as to precisely what happened during the construction works.
Financial Police Administration sources have said that the institution has received a letter marked “URGENT” from the Prosecutor’s Office to seize all financial documentation for the Gostivar II Water Supply project. According to the explanation, a case was formed following media reports.
The Office has confirmed for Telma that a separate case has been formed only in relation to the implementation of the project.
