“Nobody has the right to revise our history because freedom wasn’t gifted to us, but rather we obtained a state on our own”, President Siljanovska Davkova said in her address at the marking of Ilinden Uprising Day and Day of the Republic (August 2) outside the statue of Metodija Andonov-Chento, the first head of the ASNOM Presidium, in Skopje.
She added that there was a debt to historical truth and to the fighters who “had obtained freedom and a Macedonian Republic with blood”.
