Sveti Nikole Water Unsafe Due to Microbiological Issues

Water from Sveti Nikole’s water supply network has not been safe for drinking for three days. Mayor Dejan Vladev has said that microbiological deviations were found in it, which is why water tankers have been provided for cooking and drinking.

During regular weekly checks at two measuring points across the city water supply network, despite the established presence of residual chlorine of 0.4 mg/l — which is the main indicator of safe drinking water — microbiological deviations were also established.

“This concerns a sample taken from an outdoor tap in a public facility, which is immediately next to the location of the defect currently being repaired, and another sample taken from the internal water supply network of a commercial facility”, the press release of the local public enterprise for public utilities, shared by Mayor Vladev, reads.
