SDSM Secretary for International Cooperation Andrej Zhernovski accused the government of contradicting itself over claims that it is holding “under-the-radar” talks to unblock North Macedonia’s EU integration process.
Referring to recent statements by Foreign Minister Timcho Mucunski, Zhernovski said the minister had claimed on August 3 that talks were underway to unblock the country’s European path, before later denying the claims and accusing SDSM of spreading false information.
“This is not a denial, but simply a case of being caught in a lie. Do they think they can intimidate SDSM with such threats? The people no longer believe them. They will be held accountable for all the lies and scandals”, Zhernovski said.
VMRO-DPMNE responded Zhernovski’s press conference, accusing him of making unfounded claims and using the appearance for party purposes.
