Currently, there are 35 confirmed cases and three suspected cases of West Nile fever undergoing diagnostic evaluation. Six patients are in critical condition and receiving intensive care at the Infectious Diseases Clinic. Most of the confirmed patients are hospitalized at the Clinic, while one patient is being treated at a private healthcare facility, Minister of Health Klekovski said on Monday.
Minister Klekovski also stated that emergency mosquito spraying would continue in addition to the regular, already planned spraying activities. Residents of areas where an epidemic has been declared will receive protection alerts by text, while poultry inspections will be conducted as well.
