The Food and Veterinary Agency doesn’t have the competence to publish laboratory water analysis results. That can only be done by the Gostivar public utility enterprise (Komunalec), as the party that requested the analyses.
The Agency, through the state food inspector, collected water samples from seven locations in the city in the presence of experts from the Public Health Institute and the Public Enterprise for Water Supply (Vodovod). The testing was conducted at those two accredited laboratories.
Meanwhile, two individuals, H.M. (50) and N.K. (54), as well as a legal entity based in Veleshta, have been charged in relation to the Struga-Shum springs water contamination case.
According to the charge, on multiple cadastral parcels in personal ownership and owned by other individuals, as well as on several state-owned parcels, they carried out illegal excavation and exploitation of mineral resources without a valid concession agreement.
