The fire near Gradsko has spiraled out of control. It currently spans a long fireline of nearly 10 kilometers, advancing toward the village of Podles, the Protection and Rescue Directorate said on Tuesday. The institution added that the difficult battle was expected to last several days.
The battle with the Kitka fire has also been ongoing for several days. Though it was completely extinguished, it has flared up again. According to authorities, it is almost certainly a case of arson.
Arson was also reported at the landfill in Kavadarci. The Directorate said the situation was alarming, with the fire spreading beyond the perimeter of the landfill.
