
The State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) has opened a case on its own initiative regarding conflict of interest concerning a member of the bid selection committee for the celebration of 35 years of independence, who subsequently was also a performer, i.e., participated in the program, SCPC President Adem Cucul confirmed for Telma on Tuesday.
Regarding the funding of the celebration, he stated that the SCPC was monitoring the case.
However, also on Tuesday, the SCPC’s work was fiercely criticized by MPs from multiple parties during the debate on the report on the institution’s work in 2025. The parliamentarians stated that corruption remained deeply rooted, institutions were failing, and there were no results.
