On Monday, DUI demanded that the Interior Ministry release the full police report regarding the October 7 intervention, during which, according to the party, two young men from Saraj, aged 21 and 23, were brutally beaten by police officers. The party stated that conflicting versions of the event had emerged in the public domain.
The two young men claim they were beaten even after being subdued and handcuffed, whereas, on the other hand, claims were made that they resisted the police and seized the service weapon of a police officer. DUI demanded the publication of the initial police patrol report, the official records, and relevant documentation, while protecting personal data and without compromising the investigation.
On the other hand, VLEN, regarding the suspension of the six officers, praised the institutions’ response. Also, it accused opposition parties from the ethnic Albanian political bloc of trying to exploit the case for political points along ethnic lines.
