Regarding the case of 23-year-old Iva Mihailova, Bulgarian Ambassador Radukov was summoned on Tuesday for talks at the Foreign Ministry in Skopje.
According to the press release, it was pointed out to the diplomat that the manner in which Mihailova had been received in Sofia, including announcements of a high-level reception, constituted a provocation that undermined efforts to build trust and ran counter to commitments toward developing good-neighborly relations.
Following the meeting, Radukov stated that he had heard the concerns of North Macedonia. However, he expressed understanding for Mihailova’s move, calling it desperate. According to him, the reaction of Bulgarian President Iotova — who announced she would meet with Mihailova – is also natural.
