The results of the first round in the early local elections in Brvenica have continued to spark political accusations.
According to VMRO-DPMNE, it can be clearly seen that SDSM got 57 fewer votes than what its list won in 2025, when the very same candidate was their list carrier. On Monday, the ruling party stated that it had won nearly 600 more votes than in the 2025 elections.
“Namely, we got 2,371 votes for the council list last year, whereas yesterday, 2,943 citizens voted for [our candidate] Stojancho Radichevski”, VMRO-DPMNE pointed out.
Also on Monday, the ruling party’s leader, PM Mickoski, said he expected Radichevski to convincingly defeat the candidate endorsed by the DUI-led coalition, Arkin Jahiji, in the second round.
On the other hand, SDSM said the ruling party was attempting to present a “historic result” even though, according to the opposition party, it has seen a decline of over 13% when it comes to votes.
