Appointment of Deputy Ministers Delayed Due to Brvenica Local Elections

PM Hristijan Mickoski is expected to postpone decisions on new deputy ministers until after the November 1 mayoral runoff in Brvenica, when he plans to meet with leaders of his governing coalition partners to discuss changes in the government’s second tier.

Sources from coalition partners said they are currently focused on the local elections and will finalize their proposals with Mickoski next month. The appointments are therefore expected in the first half of November, despite the prime minister’s earlier pledge to complete the reshuffle in October.

Vacant deputy minister positions remain in the social policy and culture portfolios after Gjoko Velkovski and Sedat Sulejmani were promoted to ministers of Social Policy and of Culture, respectively.
