Supporters of DUI have confirmed via social media photos that they had come by plane on Sunday to vote in the Brvenica elections. Several days ago, an appeal circulated on social media urging the ethnic Albanian diaspora to, as it was pointed out, take its destiny into its own hands, mobilize, and head to the polls.
“The current situation in our municipality transcends ordinary politics and, more than ever, demands unity, wisdom, action, and maturity. We feel a national, religious, and civic duty to appeal to all residents of our municipality to turn out en masse on Sunday”, read the appeal posted on the Facebook page “Shoqata per f. Cellopek – Zvicer”.
On Sunday, photos showing packed airplanes carrying diaspora voters returning after casting their ballots in Brvenica were shared on that same page.
