Alta Banka owner Davor Macura was arrested in Belgrade after police conducted searches of his offices for over 30 hours. Macura is an authorized person, i.e., a member of the Supervisory Board at Alta Banka AD Bitola, as recorded in the Central Register in Skopje.
On Monday, regarding SDSM leader Filipche’s call for an oversight hearing on the case, there was a brief debate that resulted in the ruling majority and the opposition within the Committee on Financing and Budget jointly adopting a decision to schedule such a hearing as soon as possible.
One of the questions is whether money was transferred from the Serbian Alta Banka to Alta Banka AD Bitola following the Serbian elections. However, so far, everyone, including the Financial Intelligence Administration, have denied that any money transfer took place.
