Political accusations over the Alta Banka case have continued. On Tuesday, SDSM again said answers had to come from National Bank Governor Slaveski as to how Alta Banka Bitola had obtained a license to operate in the country. The party’s Secretary General, Aleksandar Dimitrijevikj, cited reports regarding the detention of Davor Macura, as well as about the alleged removal of 400 million euros in cash from the bank’s vault.
VMRO-DPMNE countered that SDSM was deliberately creating panic to drive down the bank’s value and enable its cheap takeover by, as it was pointed out, a businessperson close to SDSM leader Filipche and former PM Zaev.
VLEN said it was time to expose the Ahmeti family’s ties to Alta Banka.
“Ali Ahmeti and DUI have been silent for 13 months now. That silence will not help them now”, it said.
LDP and Levica, on their part, have criticized the weekly limit of 10,000 denars.
