Bulgarian Foreign Ministry and Radev Extend Ilinden Congratulations

On Twitter, Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry extended Ilinden greetings to North Macedonia.

“Together, we safeguard the memory of the feat of the fighters for freedom and equality. We look together towards the joint future – the European Union,” the institution said. Previously, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev had extended congratulations to his counterpart, Stevo Pendarovski.

In the message, he said the “Ilinden-Preobrazhenie Uprising” was a significant event of the “joint historical and cultural past” of the two countries, adding that the goal and sacrifice of the Uprising’s heroes was one of the bridges that had connected throughout time the two countries and their citizens.
