US Ambassador to Macedonia Kate Marie Byrnes said in an interview for Telma TV that the US are very disappointed with Bulgaria’s decision to block the start of the EU membership negotiations for Macedonia. “The US would love to see North Macedonia fully integrated in the EU, for this integration is our mutual interest. We hope and we believe that official Skopje and Sofia will manage to resolve their bilateral disputes. Agenda for implementation of reforms must proceed, and all political parties should contribute to it. All political parties must act constructively, especially at present time, when the country is dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, and people’s health should be the main priority for all political factors. The US are a great supporter of the development and the progress of the Western Balkans,” Byrnes said.
