Caretaker Minister Culev Presents Information about Drug Case in Krusopek

Wednesday’s police operation in the village of Krusopek, located in the Skopje region, saw one kilogramme of cocaine seized. Caretaker Interior Minister Nakje Culev said on Thursday it was part of a very big amount of drugs whose final destination had been Macedonia. Four persons have been detained. A financial investigation has been opened into the legal entity on whose premises the cocaine was found. There is also an investigation to see whether other physical and legal entities are involved. Culev declined to reveal the amount, but several media had said the shipment had contained 1.3 tonnes. The Minister added that though he couldn’t reveal such data, the amount was “very, very big”. The cocaine, which had come from Colombia, was found in a fruit warehouse of the Baneks Kompani DOOEL legal entity. The driver of the lorry with which the drug had been transported to the village, who’s a Montenegrin citizen, has been detained, as have been the owner of the warehouse, his son, and a warehouse employee.
