The Municipality of Gostivar held Thursday a commemorative session dedicated to the people who lost their lives in the bus accident on Wednesday near the village of Laskarci, near Skopje. Gostivar Mayor Arben Taravari said that most of the passengers in the bus were from Gostivar and extended his condolences to the families of the deceased passengers. “We hope that their souls are now safe in God’s hands, and that an accident like this one will never happen again. This is one of the saddest days for Gostivar, on which we say goodbye forever to many fellow-citizens of ours,” Taravari said. The commemorative session was also attended by top state officials, among which PM Zoran Zaev and President Gjorge Ivanov. “In moments like this, we share the sadness, and we are here to provide any form of help to the families of the deceased and injured passengers. In moments like this, we need to be together, so that we can bear the pain of this tragic event and irretrievable loss,” PM Zaev said at the ceremony. “There are no words to explain the tragedies like this one, because those that we were waiting to come home will never come at all. We must never forget these people, and we must be with their families in these days of mourning and pain,” said President Ivanov, who after the ceremony visited several of the families of the deceased passengers in Gostivar to extend his condolences. Condolences also came from Vice-PM and Defence Minister Radmila Sekerinska who attends in Brussles the meeting of NATO Defence Minsiters. “Let me express in my name, as well as in the name of my colleagues and high EU officials deepest condolences to the families who lost their relatives in this tragic accident,” Sekerinska said.
