Court freezes Assets of 4 former Agriculture Ministers

The Criminal Court in Skopje, on request by the Basic Public Prosecution (PPO), froze the assets of the 4 former Agriculture Ministers that were arrested on Friday. Former Agriculture Ministers Mihail Cvetkov, Krstijan Delev, Aco Spasenovski and Ljupco Dimovski were arrested after PPO filed charges against them for abuse of official position related to leasing agriculture land, resulting in losses of over 1.4 million euros to the State Budget of Macedonia. Cvetkov and Delev were given 30-day detention, while Spasenovski was given 30-day house arrest. The court is yet to make a decision about Dimovski, since he has immunity as current member of the Macedonian Parliament. In meantime, the Parliament is to hold a session in which it will vote on the decision for stripping Dimovski from his immunity.
