COVID-19: 127 New Cases and Two New Deaths Registered

Over the past 24 hours, 127 new COVID-19 cases have been registered, the Health Ministry said on Monday. It was added that the same period had seen 702 people tested, 16 new cured patients, and two new deaths. The number of active cases in the country is 1,343. At a press-conference together with Infectious Diseases Committee President Zarko Karadzoski and the President of Skopje’s Public Health Centre, Arben Ziberi, Health Minister Venko Filipce said the new wave of cases was a result of non-compliance with the protection measures. A majority of the new cases got infected during family and such gatherings. The Government will discuss and decide on potential reintroduction of movement restrictions on Tuesday. The proposal, reportedly, is for the curfew to be reintroduced in Skopje, Stip, Kumanovo, and Tetovo from 10 pm to 5 am.
