Against the head, the Interior Ministry filed a criminal charge in June 2012 for financial damage to the Health Insurance Fund amounting to 350,000 euros.
Then-Health Minister Nikola Todorov dismissed the woman from the position. Regarding the current investigation over the Clinic, there aren’t many official details and information. In an interview, Health Minister Fatmir Mexhiti said that he had met in July a representative of the company that had brought the CATO system to the Clinic in order to consider the possibilities to reintroduce it in order for there to be precise tracking of the therapy path and drastically reduce the possibility of abuse. According to the Minister, then-Director Nino Vasev decided verbally, not in writing, not to use the system because he believed its use was expensive.
