Deputy PM Osmani pays Official Visit to Finland

The Deputy PM for European Affairs Bujar Osmani paid an official visit to Finland on Thursday. In Finland, Osmani met the First Deputy-President of the Grand Committee at the Finnish Parliament Jani Mäkelä, with whom he spoke about the integration of Macedonia in the EU in terms of the ongoing Finnish presidency with the union. “North Macedonia has political and institutional capacities to deal with all challenges and proceed on its way towards starting membership negotiations with the EU,” Osmani told Mäkelä. Osmani also held a meeting with the Finnish Minister for European Affairs Tytti Tuppurainen, who expressed hope that judicial authorities in Macedonia will resolve “Racketeering” case soon. “Finland, which currently holds the presidency of the EU hopes that the case will be resolved soon. However, Finland, as well as the entire EU expect to see an independent investigation over this case, and clear demonstration of the rule of law in North Macedonia. This is an institutional matter, and institutions must demonstrate dedication to struggle against crime. North Macedonia has done a lot, but no it faces a major test,” Tuppurainen said.
