The Vice-PM for European Affairs Bujar Osmani joined the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov on his second day of the official visit to Germany. Osmani and Dimitrov held a meeting with the President of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer. “Germany is a key partner in our Euro-Atlantic agenda, which is why we used these two days to present arguments to German politicians and state officials that our country is ready to start the membership negotiations with the EU. We introduced Kramp-Karrenbauer to the great progress of North Macedonia in the past two years,” said FM Dimitrov. Vice-PM Osmani said that Germany is important strategic partner of Macedonia in the integration in EU. “In the period to come we need great political support from our partners inside the EU so that we can develop the successful Balkan story further and solidify the European perspectives of North Macedonia as a leader in these processes of the West Balkans,” Osmani said. Later on, Dimitrov and Osmani held a briefing before the Bundestag Committee on EU-related Affairs, introducing the attendants to the progress Macedonia has made so far in the process for integration in EU. “Opening the road towards the EU represents a very strong encouragement for our country to work even harder on the implementation of reforms, and the support the EU member-state provide to us is support for strong and visionary leadership,” Dimitrov said.
