Defence Minister Slavjanka Petrovska met in Brussels a group of students from North
Macedonia that are paying visit to the main headquarters of NATO. Petrovska, who is to
attend the NATO meeting of defence ministers, said that the goal of the visit is for the young
people to get to know better what NATO is and does, so they can contribute to the dialogue
over the geo-political challenges for the NATO region. “These young people have shown
capability for analytic thinking, and that they are familiar with the current geo-political
events. They also demonstrate characteristics which can help them become very good leaders
in future,” Petrovska said. The group of students that travelled to Brussels are the winners of
the national essay competition that recently took place in the country, for essays on the topic
“North Macedonia and NATO in 2030”.
