The Vice-PM and Defence Minister Radmila Sekerinska arrived in Brussels on Wednesday to attend the NATO Meeting of Defence Ministers, the first one ever to be attended by a Macedonian minister since the country started the process for acquiring full-fledged membership under its new constitutional name “Republic of North Macedonia”. Sekerinska met the Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg. “It is a great honour for me to attend on behalf of my country this ministerial meeting. This is the proof that our political courage paid off, that positive changes are possible in the Balkans, even in times like these,” Sekerinska said. Stoltenberg welcomed Sekerinska, saying that it is a great honour for NATO as well to welcome the DM of North Macedonia at the meeting. At the sidelines of the NATO meeting, Sekerinska held a bilateral meeting with her Greek counterpart Evangelos Apostolakis, with whom she discussed possibilities for cooperation between the armies of both countries, which was covered by the Article 17 of the Prespa Agreement.
