Election Day Issue: DUI and Mickoski Confirm Communication Channel Exists

Behind the public scene, party leaders are intensively communicating. Part of those involved in the talks consider that consensus on the election date is close. “I think we are very close to consensus and the stands can be brought closer. It’s obvious and certain that we will have elections, whether it is on 1 July, 5 July, around those dates. I think we can reach a deal consensually, in accordance also with the stands previously presented by all parties that were part of the leaders’ meeting,” DUI’s Artan Grubi said on Wednesday. VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski, too, confirmed that there was a communication channel. SDSM leader Zoran Zaev once again said elections should be held as soon as possible because Macedonia and its citizens needed a cabinet and a legislative home with full political legitimacy.
