EU and Western Balkan Leaders to Meet in Sofia in November

EU and Western Balkan leaders will meet on 10 November at a summit in Sofia, when the plan for realisation of the regional economic area should be adopted. The summit is part of the Berlin Process. On Friday, the European Commission said the vision for the regional economic community of the Western Balkans was currently being developed and approximated and that it would be ready for adoption in the Bulgarian capital. “The plan should be structured around four freedoms and concrete measures that will bring tangible results for companies and citizens in the region,” it explained, adding that those included, inter alia, recognition of professional qualifications throughout the whole region and reduction of cross-border banking fees.
