The Faculty of Pedagogy disagrees with the plans for the new primary education concept. According to the higher education institution, there are serious inconsistencies whose implementation would cause serious problems to the primary education process quality. The Faculty is also surprised why it isn’t included in the reform, stressing that such thorough changes are impossible without the inclusion of all concerned sides. The Faculty of Philosophy, too, finds the new concept unacceptable. VMRO-DPMNE has once again reiterated its criticism. Vesna Janevska, member of the opposition party, points out that there should be a national position. “The draft concept should be withdrawn right away,” she stresses, adding that a new one should be created following comprehensive consultation with all relevant factors in the education process. On the other hand, the Education Development Bureau says the reform will produce results, adding that continuity is inevitable, especially when it comes to learning natural sciences. According to Education and Science Minister Mila Carovska, the merger of subjects will drastically increase the quality of learning.
