Filipce: Election Day Has Protocols for Safe Voting

Health Minister Venko Filipce noted that in the past four months, he and colleagues at the Infectious Diseases Committee have been fully committed to providing recommendations, laws and protocols that will prevent the spread of coronavirus. “The protocols we have prepared so far to reopen businesses and normalize life with new rules have proved very effective. It has been proven that by following these coronavirus personal protection protocols, it is completely safe to shop in the market, go to work or use public transport. It is simply our new reality and new way of life,” said Minister Filipce. At the same time, the Ministry, in cooperation with other institutions, has developed a reliable and efficient protocol for the protection of citizens’ health during voting. “On my own behalf and on behalf of the Committee, I would like to assure you that on election day it will be completely safe to vote and thus exercise your civil rights. Voting will not be less secure than any other normal activity we do on a daily basis, such as going to the market. The strict protocol and its full implementation are our duty and responsibility, and we are committed to providing citizens with a secure environment in which they can vote,” said Minister Filipce.
