FM Dimitrov, Vice-PM Osmani in Official visit of Brussels

The Macedonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov and the Vice-PM for European Affairs Bujar Osmani paid an official visit to Brussels, where they met the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders. Dimitrov and Osmani claim that they have received clear signals from Brussels that the first stage of the membership negotiations with the EU for Macedonia may as well start by the end of 2019. “At least behind closed doors, the great progress of our country is greatly recognised, and if EU misses this chance, that would mean that they do not give an European perspective of the West Balkans. We do not have to strictly lock onto June and July for determining a starting date of the negotiations. However, EU must keep in mind that postponing of these processes increases the political risks in North Macedonia,” Dimitrov said.
