According to Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani, every failure when it comes to maintaining the Western Balkans’ European trajectory may have dramatic consequences for the countries from the region and for the EU, including with regards to security and migration. “Our countries should continue to progress regarding reconciliation and solving of bilateral disputes, in a European spirit, but they should also strengthen fundamental reforms, especially regarding the rule of law, on the basis of the revised methodology for accession,” he said at the panel “(W)hole in the heart of Europe? Back to the Balkans?” in the frames of the Munich Security Conference. The discussions, as the Foreign Ministry said, were focused on reaffirmation of the EU’s approach towards the Western Balkans as a strategic and credible partner for Europe. In Germany, the Foreign Minister held meetings with Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Albares Bueno, and Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Wopke Hoekstra.
