Foreign Minister Osmani: Talks with Bulgaria to be Priority in 2021 Too

The unresolved issues with Bulgaria caused failure in terms of adopting the negotiations framework and starting membership negotiations, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani said in the report at the Foreign Policy Committee. According to him, so far, numerous draft memoranda, non-papers, and declarations have been exchanged to try to find a solution to the Sofia issue. Osman said that next year, too, the priority would be the talks with Bulgaria. The Chair of the Committee, VMRO-DPMNE MP Antonijo Milososki, asked whether there were other EU members opposing enlargement, even though Osmani said in the report the 26 remaining members were in favour of Skopje starting membership negotiations. Milososki also asked who would be held politically responsible for the failure to get a framework and negotiations.
