Caretaker PM Oliver Spasovski informed at a press conference that the government decided to extend the curfew on the entire territory of Macedonia during the coronavirus epidemic. Starting on Wednesday 8 April 2020, the curfew will be extended from 04:00 p.m. to 05:00 a.m. on working days, while for weekends the curfew will start on Friday at 04:00 p.m. and will end on Monday at 05:00 a.m. The movement of certain categories of citizens will also be limiter; citizens over the age of 67 will be allowed to move in public only between 10:00 and 12:00 a.m. on working days, while citizens under the age of 18 on the same days between 01:00 and 03:00 p.m. “We were forced to reach this decision since in the past weeks we concluded that a great number of citizens are still breaching the movement limitations and do not stick to the governmental measures for protection from COVID-19. It is better for us to start preparing for more so that we record fewer consequences in reality. Our top priority is to protect people’s health and reduce the negative effects over the economy too,” Spasovski explained.
