Greek MEP Demands Answers from Mogherini about Gruevski’s Case

The Greek MEP Stelios Kuloglu addressed several questions to the EU’s High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Federica Mogherini concerning former Macedonian PM Nikola Gruevski’s escape from Macedonia to Hungary, an EU member-state. “Does the decision of Hungary to grant asylum to Gruevski provoke certain questions by the EU? What can the EU do to prevent one of its member-states to obstruct the work of the judicial system of a country that is candidate for EU membership? The Hungarian PM Viktor Orban holds positions for not receiving asylum seekers in his country, but it seems that he was more than ready to make an exception for Gruevski. Hungary claims that it support FYROM’s integration in EU, but still, by granting asylum to Gruevski, considers the country unsafe,” writes Kuloglu in his questions addressed to Mogherini.
